Petrobras has reached a historic market value of R$ 800 billion on the B3, driven by increased production, international agreements, and advancements in sustainable energy.

Petrobras reached a historic milestone by closing the trading session with a market value of R$ 800 billion on the B3. The unprecedented result reflects the strong upward trajectory of the state-owned company’s shares throughout 2026.

Year-to-date, preferred shares PETR4 recorded an increase of nearly 100%, while common shares PETR3 advanced by more than 110%. The milestone consolidates a valuation streak that had already surpassed R$ 700 billion earlier in the month.

The combination of a favorable international environment, high refinery efficiency, and new sustainability-focused projects strengthened investor confidence in the Brazilian oil company.

Operational progress and billion-dollar agreements

Market optimism was driven by the agreement to equalize costs and volumes in the Berbigão and Sururu fields in the Santos Basin. Under the agreement signed with international partners, the company will receive approximately $859 million net.

Operationally, proprietary oil extraction averaged 2.7 million barrels per day in the second quarter. At the same time, the refinery utilization rate operated at high levels, reaching 101%.

Over the past few months, I have stated several times that anyone betting against Petrobras would lose money. And we have demonstrated this, with responsibility and transparency, through consistent deliveries and successive records. The company is strong, efficient, and increasingly capable of generating value.

The statement by the company’s CEO, Magda Chambriard, reinforces management’s focus on maintaining profitability combined with financial and operational discipline.

Focus on clean energy and Equatorial Margin

In addition to traditional production, Petrobras is accelerating the diversification of its portfolio with a focus on the energy transition. The company has expanded the supply of Diesel R5 fuel.
