The logistics sector in the Federal District solidified an expressive performance in the first half of 2026, recording a 10% increase in the volume of packages shipped compared to the previous year.

The data, extracted from the 5th edition of the study Logistics Map, highlights the federal capital as one of the federative units that most expanded its goods shipment operations. This growth places the DF in fourth position in the national expansion ranking, a clear sign of the decentralization of Brazilian e-commerce, which is gaining strength outside historically dominant consumer hubs.

In the regional scenario, the Federal District surpassed Ceará and maintained a steady pace, positioning itself below states like Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, and Paraná. Brasília’s strategic geographical location has been a competitive advantage, positioning the Central-West region as the third-largest shipping hub in the country.

Expansion and New Dynamics in Package Shipments

A highlight of the survey was the performance of major brands operating from the Brasília territory. This specific segment showed a 150% leap in shipments, achieving the highest growth rate among all Brazilian states during the period.

In addition to volume, local logistics underwent significant structural changes. Small and medium-sized enterprises more frequently adopted pick-up and drop-off points, known as PUDOs, which saw a 53% increase in their utilization. This behavior reflects a pursuit of greater efficiency in the so-called “last mile” of delivery.

Consumer Profile and Delivery Times

Regarding the type of goods that move the market in the Central-West region, beauty products — specifically cosmetics and perfumery — lead the transportation ranking, followed by electronics and apparel.

The high demand for agility in national e-commerce was also reflected in delivery times: half of all packages shipped in the country managed to reach their final destination within a maximum period of three days. The promotional calendar, notably Consumer Day and Valentine’s Day, also confirmed its role as a fundamental driver for the peaks in logistics volume observed during the first six months of the year.
