Casa dos Ventos marks its strategic entry into Mato Grosso do Sul with the operation of two major solar complexes. With a multi-billion real investment, these projects reinforce the company’s commitment to expanding renewable energy in Brazil.
Casa dos Ventos has officially arrived in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul with the start of commercial operations at the Seriemas and Rio Brilhante solar complexes. This move represents a fundamental step in the company’s diversification and growth strategy, consolidating the state as a new hub of relevance for Brazil’s energy transition.
The total investment in the region amounts to R$ 5.12 billion, covering the construction of three large-scale assets. Together, the Seriemas and Rio Brilhante complexes inject 891 MW of clean power into the national grid, playing a crucial role in supporting industrial decarbonization and fostering regional economic development.
Expansion of solar infrastructure
The Seriemas and Rio Brilhante projects received investments of R$ 1.4 billion and R$ 1.6 billion, respectively. In addition to these units, the company continues construction on the Paraíso photovoltaic complex, which began in April 2026. With an installed capacity of 640 MW, this third asset is expected to begin operations in 2027, bringing the company’s total potential in the state to 1,531 MW.

Technical details and strategic partnerships
The Seriemas complex, located in Paranaíba, covers 940 hectares and features 889,200 photovoltaic modules, reaching a capacity of 400 MW. The project has already established energy self-production contracts with Dow and Aegea.
Meanwhile, the Rio Brilhante project, located near Campo Grande, operates with 491 MW of installed capacity across an area of 1,100 hectares. The energy generated by its 1,105,920 solar modules is entirely dedicated to Sabesp, reinforcing the self-production model as a pillar of competitiveness for major clean energy consumers.
Socioeconomic and environmental impact
In addition to its direct contribution to the electrical grid, the installation of the three complexes created more than 4,000 jobs at the peak of construction, boosting the national supply chain. Environmental licensing, conducted by Imasul, ensures that development goes hand-in-hand with conservation, including an investment of R$ 25 million allocated to compensation and mitigation programs.
With completion scheduled for 2027, Casa dos Ventos‘ presence in Mato Grosso do Sul positions the state at the forefront of photovoltaic energy generation. This infrastructure not only meets the growing demand for sustainable sources but also establishes a model of governance and sustainability that will be vital for the country’s future carbon neutrality goals.
