Neoenergia allocates R$ 868 million in 2026 to build 12 new substations and expand 33 existing units, bolstering energy transition and the resilience of electrical infrastructure.
The clean energy and infrastructure sector in Brazil is gaining momentum with recent investments planned for the coming year. Neoenergia has announced an R$ 868 million financial commitment aimed exclusively at the modernization and expansion of its distribution network throughout 2026.
The strategic plan covers the construction of 12 transformer units and the modernization of 33 other existing structures. The initiative aims to serve 57 municipalities across six states and the Federal District, positively impacting the daily lives of approximately 1.7 million consumer units.
Expansion and Regional Focus
The planned interventions seek to prepare the electrical system for organic consumption growth and the challenges posed by climate change. The distributor Neoenergia Coelba will lead the volume of projects in Bahia, focusing on strategic regions such as the coast and the western part of the state, where tourism and agribusiness demand greater power supply robustness.
Other states set to benefit include Pernambuco, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to the federal capital. This geographic distribution demonstrates the group’s national reach in improving local energy transition and consolidating a smarter, more digitized grid.
Our investment in modernization and infrastructure is continuous and reflects Neoenergia‘s commitment to providing an increasingly better service to our customers. The new deliveries and substation expansions reinforce the power and reliability of the system, which are essential for facing extreme weather events, keeping pace with the growth of the cities where we operate, and boosting strategic sectors of each region’s economy.
Outlook through 2030
The amount announced for next year is part of a much more robust long-term strategy. By the end of the decade, the group expects to inject approximately R$ 50 billion into its five energy concessionaires, prioritizing the deployment of new technologies and the automation of operation centers.
With these continuous investments, the company reinforces its prominent role in the country’s sustainable development. The goal is to ensure that the electrical infrastructure supports the electrification of the economy and the growing integration of renewable sources, ensuring stability and efficiency for Brazilian consumers in the coming years.
