Copel is allocating around R$ 90 million to transform the electrical infrastructure in Campo Mourão in 2026, boosting clean energy and local development.
The clean energy and electrical infrastructure sector in the state of Paraná is receiving a significant boost with the announcement of a historic investment in Campo Mourão. Copel has directed a robust financial package to modernize and expand the region’s energy supply capacity, preparing the municipality to keep pace with sustainable economic growth.
The company’s strategic planning was presented during meetings with local leaders and representatives from the productive sector. With a base of over 50,000 consumer units, the city will benefit from deep structural interventions aimed at ensuring greater stability and efficiency in electricity supply for residences, businesses, and agro-industrial hubs.
Modernization and Focus on the Bandeira Substation
Of the total resources programmed for the municipality, the largest share is concentrated on subtransmission infrastructure. Around R$ 60 million has been allocated exclusively to the expansion of the Bandeira Substation, an essential project to absorb the gradual increase in demand and support the connection of new loads to the local electrical grid.
In parallel, the plan includes R$ 29 million directed specifically toward the distribution network. The project encompasses the construction of 11 kilometers of new lines, the replacement of nine kilometers of old cabling, and the installation of 22 automated reclosers—technology that ensures the rapid restoration of service in the event of outages.
During the presentation of the schedule to Mayor Douglas Fabrício, Copel‘s Chief Commercial Officer, Júlio Omori, reinforced the company’s commitment to the population:
We thank Copel for coming here to the City Hall to give an account and show everything that is being done in Campo Mourão, such as investments, new transformers, and improvements to the electrical grid, in order to improve the services provided. We increasingly expect the population to have a quality service.
Strategic Partnership with Agribusiness
The modernized energy infrastructure also meets the needs of major production hubs in the region. Copel has aligned its expansion guidelines with Coamo Agroindustrial Cooperativa, assessing future energy demands to ensure continuous support for the growth of operations at the agribusiness giant.
According to Coamo‘s Director of Logistics and Operations, Edenilson Carlos de Oliveira, the alignment between the projects is vital:
It was a productive meeting. Copel is a great strategic partner for Coamo, and we count on the company in our short- and medium-term expansion plan.
The combination of cutting-edge technology, grid automation, and joint planning with major consumers consolidates a management model focused on an efficient energy transition. The utility’s next steps involve intensifying preventive maintenance and reinforcing technical teams in the field to ensure the delivery of electricity with maximum reliability.
