The BYD King dominates the electrified vehicle scene in Brasília, leading searches in the Move Brasil program.

The automotive market in Brasília has shown a clear shift toward electrification.

The BYD King hybrid sedan has emerged as the absolute leader in vehicle searches in the Federal District, boosted by the Move Brasil program for Taxis and Ride-Hailing Services.

This interest reflects a growing movement toward more sustainable and economically viable fleets in the capital.

The survey, conducted between June and September by Webmotors Autoinsights, reveals a striking trend: the four most sought-after models by drivers in the region are electrified and belong to the Chinese automaker BYD.

In addition to the BYD King, which accounted for 16.32% of searches, the Song Pro (14.27%), Dolphin Mini (12.49%), and Dolphin (10.44%) models also stood out, highlighting the brand’s strength and the acceptance of its electric and hybrid vehicles.

The Move Brasil Program and the Push for Electrification

The success of these models is heavily influenced by the federal Move Brasil program.

Through the initiative, exclusive financing lines are offered, making the acquisition of sustainable vehicles easier.

The program aims to renew fleets with automobiles featuring clean technologies, with a price cap of BRL 200,000, and covers automakers registered under the Mover Program.

This initiative has been crucial in driving the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles by professionals who rely on their cars for work, such as ride-hailing drivers and taxi drivers.

Fuel savings and reduced pollutant emissions are determining factors in this choice.

Diversification in the Top 10

Although BYD models dominate the top positions, the ranking of the ten most searched vehicles in the Federal District under Move Brasil also includes representatives from other traditional automakers.

The Honda HR-V appears in fifth place, followed by Chevrolet models such as the Onix and Tracker, and Hyundai with the Creta and HB20.

The Geely EX2 rounds out the list.

This diversity demonstrates that while electrification is gaining momentum, combustion vehicles still maintain a significant market share, especially among more affordable models or those already established in their categories.

The Future of Mobility in Brasília

The leadership of the BYD King and the strong performance of the brand’s other electrified models signal a paradigm shift in urban mobility in Brasília.

Growing environmental awareness, combined with government incentives and the technological evolution of electric vehicles, is shaping consumer preferences.

This trend is expected to strengthen in the coming months, with more drivers seeking the economic and ecological advantages offered by electrification.

The Move Brasil program will continue to be a fundamental pillar in this process, promoting a faster and more efficient transition to a cleaner and more sustainable transportation future in the federal capital.

Experts state:

The search for electrified vehicles consolidates drivers’ preference for more sustainable and economical fleets in the capital.
