The investment fund of Casa dos Ventos is negotiating the acquisition of seven new clean energy projects from Voltalia, totaling 300 MW in future capacity in Brazil.

The Brazilian clean energy market is witnessing yet another major strategic move. Salus FIP, a fund managed by the Casa dos Ventos group, has filed a proposal with Cade to acquire seven special purpose entities belonging to Voltalia.

The initiative aims to expand the renewable generation portfolio by adding 300 MW in projects that are still on the drawing board. This represents another step in the company’s growth plan within the national energy transition sector.

Details of the transaction between energy giants

The transaction covers the entirety of the shares in five photovoltaic solar power plants located in Tocantins, named Gurupi 1 through 5, as well as two wind complexes in Rio Grande do Norte, called Tourinhos C11 and C12. Because these are assets under development, the completion of the deal depends on regulatory approval.

The process has already been submitted for review by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense, the antitrust agency that evaluates market concentration. However, the effective transfer of the electric power permits will subsequently require the final approval of Aneel.

In a justification submitted to regulatory authorities, the investors highlighted that:

the transaction represents an opportunity to expand the portfolio of investments in renewable energy in Brazil.

For the seller, the divestment is part of a corporate strategy focused on capital reallocation into other business fronts.

Portfolio acceleration and new parks

The appetite of Casa dos Ventos for the renewable sources market has been strong in recent months. This is the second asset acquisition announced recently by the manager, which is also seeking to absorb wind assets from Vestas in the southern part of the country.

Alongside the purchase negotiations, the company plans to begin construction by mid-2027 on a massive 750 MW wind complex in the city of Dom Pedrito, in Rio Grande do Sul. With investments estimated at R$ 4 billion, the project promises to significantly increase the supply of sustainable energy in the southern region.

The continuous expansion of Casa dos Ventos reinforces the leading role of the private sector in consolidating an increasingly green electricity matrix. With the progress of talks at Cade, the green infrastructure market is expected to gain even more momentum in the coming months.
