Celina Leão intensifies political outreach for the second round of elections in the Federal District, uniting legislative blocs in pursuit of federal resources and inspecting areas affected by fires.

The electoral race for the second round in the Federal District has entered a phase of intense political maneuvering and crisis management.

The governor and candidate for re-election, Celina Leão (PP), dedicated her recent agenda to consolidating strategic alliances with legislative leaders,

aiming to ensure governability and robust parliamentary support for the next administration in the nation’s capital.

Parallel to political negotiations with federal and district deputies, the head of the local executive had to deal with urban emergencies.

The focus was on sustainability and the protection of workers in the circular economy, following a serious incident that affected a facility

dedicated to solid waste management and ecological practices in the administrative region.

Political Articulation and Governance

During strategic meetings held in the Setor de Indústria e Abastecimento (SIA) and other regions such as Candangolândia and Brazlândia,

the campaign’s strategy was to align forces with influential figures, including parliamentarians Rafael Prudente and Izalci Lucas.

The central objective is to unify the support base between the National Congress and the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF).

Building this support base is seen as essential to unlocking economic agendas and attracting federal investment for local projects.

The campaign’s mapping already counts strategic alliances with three senators, as well as dozens of elected federal and district parliamentarians,

paving the way for the approval of priority budgetary matters.

Rapid Response to Fire at Recycling Center

The governor’s institutional agenda also required immediate presence at Cidade do Automóvel,

where a recycling warehouse was devastated by flames.

The technical visit aimed to assess structural damage and offer solidarity to the waste pickers

who depend on that space for their livelihood and to promote the energy transition through material reuse.

Celina Leão stated:

We have ordered immediate action to map all material and structural losses, ensuring the necessary financial support so that these workers can resume their ecological activities as quickly as possible.

To ensure an effective response, a direct meeting with the Secretariat of Environment was scheduled.

The agency will be responsible for consolidating a detailed damage report, allowing the district government to direct appropriate

financial and structural assistance for the rebuilding of the cooperative affected by the fire.

The administration of the Federal District is betting on the combination of institutional stability and rapid response capacity to emergencies

as differentiators for the next administrative cycle.

The ability to navigate between articulating large legislative blocs and providing direct attention to socio-environmental issues

will shape the current administration’s next steps before the voters of Brasília.
