The vast territory of the Sol do Agreste Photovoltaic Complex, located in the state of Pernambuco, now boasts a cutting-edge security system. Spanning an impressive 4.4 million square meters, the solar farm has implemented a robust and multifaceted strategy to protect its assets and ensure continuous operation.

The primary focus is risk reduction and loss prevention, which is crucial for the sustainability of large-scale clean energy projects. The solution, designed by Avantia and implemented for Atiaia Renováveis, represents a milestone in the security of photovoltaic plants.

Layered Security for Comprehensive Protection

The sheer scale of Sol do Agreste demands a security approach that goes beyond conventional measures. The strategy developed by Avantia relies on multiple layers of protection. Initially, perimeter security works to detect any unauthorized access attempts early on.

Complementing this defense, an advanced video surveillance system comes into play. It utilizes a combination of fixed cameras, PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom with movement and zoom capabilities), and thermal equipment, enabling precise identification of suspicious activities across vast areas, even in low-light or dark conditions.

Technology and Networked Intelligence

To cover blind spots and areas of higher vulnerability, additional sensors, such as radars, have been strategically positioned. This entire technological infrastructure—which includes strict access control, vehicle identification systems, and intelligent lighting—is interconnected.

This integration allows not only for incident detection but also for the analysis and classification of events, the triggering of precise alerts, and the initiation of immediate response protocols.
