Brazil’s logistics market generated more than 34,000 jobs in the first half of the year, driven by the strengthening of national distribution infrastructure.
The national job market recorded a sharp acceleration in hiring across the transportation and distribution sector during the first half of 2026.
A recent survey conducted by the Banco Nacional de Empregos (BNE) highlights the opening of over 34,000 job positions during the period, driven by the restructuring of supply chains.
The trend reflects advances in the country’s logistics infrastructure, requiring an increasingly strong presence of operational and specialized professionals across all Brazilian regions.
Regional progress and Southeast leadership
The expansion in job offerings occurred nationwide, keeping pace with growth in industrial activity and e-commerce.
The Southeast region concentrated the highest volume of opportunities in the second quarter, showing a 24.1% growth compared to the first three months of the year.
The state of São Paulo took the absolute lead in indicators, recording a significant 41.3% jump in new operational and tactical job openings.
Following in the state rankings, Santa Catarina secured second place, accompanied by significant increases in Goiás, Minas Gerais, and Ceará.
Most in-demand professionals across the supply chain
The search for drivers remained at the top of corporate priorities, with the position of driver leading national demand and accounting for 2,199 open jobs during the quarter.
In addition to drivers, the roles of stock clerk and logistics assistant ranked among the positions with the highest absolute volume of hiring in the country.
In percentage terms, the occupations of inventory checker and truck driver recorded the highest gains, growing 26.1% and 20.7%, respectively.
“The diversity of roles — ranging from yard operations to technical management positions — turns logistics into one of the main entry points into today’s job market.”
Outlook for sector efficiency
The strengthening of transportation and cargo handling infrastructure consolidates the sector as a central engine for national economic efficiency.
The trend points toward ongoing modernization of fleets and operational management, requiring skilled workers to meet the country’s new logistics demands.
