Latam has officially launched operations with the state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2, marking a new era for regional aviation and boosting efficiency in the domestic market.
Brazilian commercial aviation has gained new momentum with the arrival of the first Embraer E195-E2 jet in the Latam Airlines Brasil fleet.
The delivery of the aircraft, made official last Wednesday (07), represents a strategic milestone for both the airline and the country’s aerospace industry, which is banking on more efficient models to serve medium-density markets.
The equipment is part of a robust commercial agreement that includes the acquisition of up to 74 units, totaling 24 firm orders and 50 purchase options.
For the confirmed orders alone, the estimated financial investment reaches $2.1 billion.
Expansion and Strategic Financing
The strategy to expand the air network is backed by public policies from the Ministry of Ports and Airports, as well as financial support through the National Civil Aviation Fund.
In mid-2026, the fund’s steering committee facilitated long-term credit from the BNDES, part of a multibillion-dollar package aimed at strengthening the national airline sector.
With the progressive arrival of the new jets, the company projects incorporating 14 aircraft by March 2027.
The operational plan includes the opening of 42 new routes, connecting 67 Brazilian municipalities and launching bases in strategic cities such as Cabo Frio, Macaé, Rondonópolis, and Ji-Paraná.
Socioeconomic Impact and Training
Beyond energy efficiency and reduced emissions—fundamental pillars for the future of sustainable mobility—the order stimulates the supply chain with expectations of creating over 2,000 direct jobs.
Operational preparation is already in full swing.
The company has already hired its first class of 54 pilots and begun training 150 flight attendants in cabin simulators, with practical evaluations overseen by examiners from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
The integration of these next-generation aircraft reflects the sector’s commitment to technological modernization and the decentralization of domestic flights.
In the coming months, the expansion of regional routes will consolidate the company’s presence at airports previously served to a limited extent, paving the way for more connected and efficient air travel.
