Emulzint Zeelandia has reached a significant milestone by reducing 127 tons of CO₂ and recycling over 324 tons of waste, solidifying its commitment to the circular economy and global sustainability goals.
The industrial firm Emulzint Zeelandia has reported significant progress in its journey toward more conscious operations. Between 2024 and 2025, the company successfully reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 127 tons and diverted more than 324 tons of waste to recycling facilities.
These results reflect the company’s strong alignment with the global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) commitments of the Zeelandia Group. The firm focuses on strengthening practices that benefit the bakery and confectionery sector, promoting more balanced production.
Through renewable energy initiatives and efficient material management, the organization demonstrates how industrial growth can go hand in hand with environmental preservation.
Transition to clean energy
To mitigate its carbon footprint, the company entered into a strategic partnership with Comerc Energia, transitioning to the consumption of incentivized renewable energy. In 2025 alone, consumption under this model reached 2,676.701 MWh.
This shift resulted in a direct reduction of 127.19 tons of CO₂ in the atmosphere. To put this positive impact into perspective, this volume of avoided emissions is equivalent to planting and maintaining 891 trees over three decades, highlighting the company’s dedication to reforestation and climate protection projects.
Commitment to the circular economy
Waste management is another essential pillar of the strategy at the Jundiaí (SP) facility. The company operates on two main fronts: post-consumer packaging offsetting and the proper disposal of operational recyclables.
Regarding reverse logistics, the company exceeded significant targets. Based on 2024 data, 228.31 tons of paper and cardboard, 78.06 tons of plastic, and 18.30 tons of metal were offset.
This volume corresponds to 32% of the total packaging sold by the organization during the period, strictly following the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) with full traceability.
Strategic guidelines
Sustainability is part of our corporate strategy and the principles of the Zeelandia Group. By investing in renewable energy and ensuring the proper destination of our packaging, we assume shared responsibility for the entire production chain. Our goal is to generate a positive environmental impact, advance our ESG agenda, and demonstrate to the sector that responsible growth is the path to the future.
This statement comes from Gustavo Tsukamoto, Managing Director of Emulzint Zeelandia and CSR Ambassador in Brazil. His position reinforces that socio-environmental responsibility is not an isolated project, but a continuous guideline that steers all business decisions.
Toward a sustainable future
In addition to post-consumer packaging, the factory also promotes the recycling of materials generated internally, such as wood, metal scrap, and electronic waste, totaling 226.38 tons of reclaimed waste in 2024.
By adopting these measures, Emulzint Zeelandia not only optimizes resource use but also serves as a model for the Brazilian industrial market. The future impact of these actions promises to be even greater as the company seeks new ways to consolidate sustainability throughout its value chain.
