In an unprecedented move, BYD is expanding its clean energy ecosystem by offering photovoltaic kits across its entire national dealership network.
BYD has taken a major strategic step to strengthen its footprint in the Brazilian sustainability market. The company has announced the availability of solar energy kits at its 233 locations across the country.
The initiative democratizes access to the technology, as the solution is not exclusive to owners of the brand’s vehicles; it is available to any consumer interested in investing in their own electricity generation.
The standard photovoltaic kit consists of eight 600W modules, accompanied by an inverter, cables, connectors, and mounting hardware. With a total capacity of 4.8 kWp, the system has the potential to generate approximately 600 kWh per month under average sunlight conditions.
A notable advantage is that the solar panels are produced by the manufacturer itself at its facility in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo state.
Integrated solution and favorable conditions
To ensure a seamless customer experience, the package offered by BYD is not limited to equipment supply. The company includes professional installation, necessary support for system grid-tie approval with the local utility provider, and one-year insurance coverage.
According to Henrique Antunes, Director of Quality and Value Chain at BYD Brazil, the proposal aims to simplify the energy transition:
“We have structured a standardized solution to make this process simpler and more accessible.”
The sales strategy also includes aggressive financing terms. Customers who choose to purchase the Novo Song Pro Flex model—whether by cash or through financing via Santander—have the opportunity to acquire the solar kit in 36 fixed installments of R$ 512, with no down payment or interest charges.
In this scenario, the consumer only covers the IOF (Financial Operations Tax) costs (R$ 578.62) and a registration fee (R$ 1,149).
For other interested parties, including owners of vehicles from other manufacturers, BYD maintains accessible financing options through banking partnerships, with competitive interest rates starting at 1.69% per month.
With this move, the automaker consolidates its vision of a future where electric mobility and renewable energy generation go hand-in-hand, positioning itself as a key player in the transition to a low-carbon economy in Brazil.
