Âmbar Energia is resuming critical work on the ‘Luz para Todos’ program in Amazonas, following a two-year hiatus and with a substantial investment.
Âmbar Energia has taken a significant step in expanding electricity access in Amazonas, resuming work on the federal program Luz para Todos. The initiative, which had been stalled for almost two years, represents a milestone for the concessionaire, which took over network management five months ago and is now accelerating the electrification schedule in rural and remote areas.
The ambitious plan calls for a total investment of R$ 785.9 million, aiming to connect 18,775 new consumer units in its first phase. This initiative is expected to transform the lives of approximately 94,000 people in various locations across the state.
Resumption and Strategic Mobilization
The restart of activities marks the end of a period of program underperformance in Amazonas. Previous data showed a performance below expectations, with few connections made in 2024 and none in 2025, contrary to established goals.
To reverse this situation, Âmbar Energia implemented a mobilization strategy across four regional hubs. Work has already commenced in Iranduba, benefiting 630 households, and will continue in Presidente Figueiredo (1,527 connections), Rio Preto da Eva (879 connections), and the rural zone of Manaus (1,652 connections in the Água Branca region).
Solutions for the Amazon’s Geographic Diversity
Âmbar Energia’s strategy to universalize energy access in the vast Amazon region is twofold. A substantial portion of the resources, approximately R$ 423.8 million, will be directed towards the construction of 1,865 km of conventional medium-voltage grids, serving 11,517 households in 54 municipalities.
In parallel, for locations difficult to access by land, where logistics are complex and depend on river transport, the company will invest R$ 362 million in 7,258 photovoltaic solar systems. These individual solutions with solar panels, inverters, and batteries will bring electricity to approximately 36,290 residents in 18 remote municipalities.
The majority of the funding, R$ 707.3 million, comes from the Energy Development Account (CDE), a crucial fund for public universalization policies. The remaining R$ 78.6 million is Âmbar Energia’s own contribution, demonstrating the company’s commitment to the energy development of Amazonas.
