Grupo Potencial has charted an ambitious growth strategy, aiming for R$15 billion in revenue by 2027 through substantial investments in biofuels and grain processing.
Grupo Potencial, a prominent player in the clean energy and fuel distribution sector, has just announced a robust investment plan poised to reshape its national market presence. With an expansion horizon set until 2032, the company will allocate R$6.2 billion to strengthen its industrial verticalization and broaden its geographic footprint in strategic hubs across Brazil.
The central objective is to jump from the projected R$13 billion revenue for 2026 to R$15 billion in the following year. This growth will be driven by the consolidation of new industrial operations and aggressive entry into regional markets where the company previously lacked commercial reach.
Betting on Verticalization and Soybean Processing
The main engine for this financial leap will be the new soybean crushing plant located in Lapa, Paraná. This facility, scheduled to begin operations in 2027, is expected to add approximately R$2 billion to the group’s annual revenue. Beyond financial returns, the project is crucial for the company’s production security, as the plant will supply 30% of the vegetable oil needed for biodiesel production.
“The soybean crushing plant being built in Lapa could add approximately R$2 billion to annual revenue, serving as the necessary differentiator to achieve our expansion goals by 2027,” highlights Eduardo Hammerschmidt, the group’s vice president of new business and institutional relations.
Geographic Expansion and New Markets
Simultaneously with its industrial reinforcement, Grupo Potencial is initiating its expansion in the Northeast with an operation in São Francisco do Conde, Bahia. This move is a strategic test to gauge brand acceptance in a region with high consumption potential, where the addressable market totals nearly 5 billion liters of fuel annually.
In addition to Bahia, the company is advancing in Montes Claros (MG) and expanding its coverage in Santa Maria (RS). This network, which currently supplies around 2,000 gas stations, will gain greater logistical and commercial robustness, solidifying the brand as one of the most dynamic in the sector.
The Future in Agriculture and New Biofuels
The group’s strategy extends beyond soybean oil. The R$6.2 billion plan also includes the construction of a plant focused on corn ethanol, diversifying the company’s renewable energy portfolio. The goal is to increase biodiesel production capacity from 900 million to 1.65 billion liters annually.
To support this growth, the group is preparing to launch a financial arm focused on agribusiness. This initiative aims to finance rural producers, guarantee the purchase of their harvests, and strengthen the company’s relationship with the agricultural sector. With this move, Grupo Potencial reaffirms its transition trajectory: a company founded in fuel distribution in 1954, now positioning itself as an integrated agroenergy giant.
