Governor Celina Leão detailed goals to eliminate surgery waitlists and expand the subway in the Federal District, focusing on mobility investments and land regularization for the upcoming term.
In campaign mode and reviewing administrative achievements, Governor Celina Leão (PP) used last Sunday (11) to consolidate her government proposals in the administrative regions of Gama and Santa Maria.
The head of the local Executive placed efficiency in public health management and the modernization of the road network as central pillars of her reelection platform.
The highlight of the agenda was health indicators, where the governor celebrated a 31% increase in the supply of elective surgeries, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
The current goal is to accelerate the reduction of waitlists through a public-private partnership strategy.
Advances in health and commitment to infrastructure
For the health sector, the proposal foresees the complementary contracting of private network facilities.
The objective is to perform 20,000 new surgeries and provide 200,000 operational consultations.
The measure aims to optimize service to citizens and ease pressure on public hospitals in the DF.
Decentralizing services and heavy investment in infrastructure are key to transforming the quality of life in satellite cities and ensuring that development reaches all families across Brasília.
Mobility and urban development
In addition to health, urban mobility gained ambitious scope.
In Santa Maria, the administration reinforced its commitment to building a second bus terminal, a key element in easing passenger flow.
The most ambitious project, however, is the expansion of the subway network, which is planned to reach 78 kilometers in length, connecting more peripheral areas to the capital’s downtown.
The governor also focused on land regularization.
In Gama, Celina Leão committed to the legal process required for the regularization of lots in areas known as “becos”, ensuring legal certainty for residents.
The government plan remains focused on austerity, with spending control measures and the centralization of public agencies in the Administrative Center.
With these proposals, the administration seeks to consolidate a management model that prioritizes urban infrastructure improvements and prompt public service across the various administrative regions of the Federal District.
