Strong credit demand boosts the Brasil Soberano Plan, with R$ 8.2 billion in requests within two days.
The initiative from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), dubbed the Brasil Soberano Plan, has shown significant interest from the productive sector. In just 48 hours, the financial institution received an impressive R$ 8.2 billion in credit requests across 138 proposals.
The program aims to strengthen national industry and diversify trade routes, especially in light of global economic uncertainties. The total amount allocated for the plan is R$ 22.6 billion, with R$ 13.5 billion coming from the National Treasury and R$ 9.1 billion from BNDES itself.
Approval and Allocation of Resources
Of the requests submitted, R$ 1.7 billion have already been cleared by BNDES. The largest share of these approved funds, R$ 794 million, is destined for Group 2 companies. This segment covers sectors considered strategic to the Brazilian economy, such as textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, and mining.
Another R$ 680 million was directed to Group 1 companies and their suppliers, which were affected by tariff measures imposed by the United States. Group 3, focused on boosting exports to Persian Gulf countries, also benefited, with R$ 251 million approved. The fertilizer sector stood out, securing R$ 683 million in released funds during the period evaluated.
Strategic Objectives and Financing Lines
Aloizio Mercadante, president of BNDES, emphasized:
The goal of the plan is to ensure that the Brazilian industry gains autonomy and the capacity to expand its export markets, in addition to maintaining its productive strength.
The financing lines offered cover various business needs, including working capital, support for export operations, the acquisition of new machinery, development of innovative projects, expansion of manufacturing plants, and modernization of operational processes.
The Brasil Soberano Plan therefore represents an important move to safeguard and boost the competitiveness of domestic production in an increasingly dynamic and challenging international landscape.
