The volume of services in Brazil remained unchanged in July, consolidating a level 20% higher than the pre-pandemic period while maintaining a long-term trajectory of annual growth.
Economic activity in the services sector ended July 2026 without significant fluctuations, posting a flat result (0.0%) compared to the performance observed in June.
The data, which follows a slight 0.1% increase in the previous month, reinforces a scenario of stability, although long-term indicators continue to demonstrate the segment’s resilience.
Even with the pause in the immediate growth pace, the sector is celebrating the impressive milestone of 28 consecutive months of positive results when compared to the same period in the previous year.
Compared to July 2025, there was an increase of 0.9%, maintaining the operational level 20% above the volume recorded before the pandemic.
Dynamics by category and year-to-date performance
Activity performance was heterogeneous during the period. Among the positive highlights, the other services segment led the advance with a 0.7% increase.
The professional and administrative services group rose 0.6%, offsetting losses from the previous cycle, while services rendered to families grew 0.5%.
In the transportation sector, there was a positive variation of 0.4%, overcoming the stagnation seen previously.
Conversely, the information and communication sector posted the only negative performance, with a decline of 2.5%. Analysts note that this result largely reflects a pullback from significant gains accumulated in previous months.
“Although we observed stability in the monthly volume, the services sector remains one of the main drivers supporting the Brazilian economy, especially when we consider that the accumulation over the last 12 months remains in positive territory,” the current economic scenario points out.
With the July data consolidated, the year-to-date 2026 figures indicate a 1.9% expansion for the sector.
However, the 12-month indicator reached 2.4%, revealing that despite its solidity, the pace of expansion is undergoing a gradual slowdown process.
Market expectations are now focused on the recovery capacity of the areas still facing instability in the coming months.
