The food industry giant Nestlé announced a robust expansion plan for its Nutrition and Health division in the country. With a R$ 2 billion investment planned over the next four years, the company is reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Brazilian market, integrating a global plan that allocates R$ 7 billion to local operations.
The highlight of this investment cycle is the construction of a modern infant formula factory in the city of Ituiutaba, in Minas Gerais. With an estimated cost of R$ 600 million, the facility’s primary purpose will be to reduce dependence on imported products, such as Nestogeno and Ninho 1+, paving the way for Brazil to become an exporter of these items in the future.
Focus on Technology and Regional Impact
The new plant will be highly automated, and the expectation is to create 800 new jobs, both direct and indirect, boosting the economy of Minas Gerais. In parallel, the multinational will invest in the technological upgrade of its industrial complex in Araçatuba (SP) and expand the processing capacity of essential inputs, such as milk serum, at the unit in Carazinho (RS).

In addition to production modernization, the company’s agenda for the 2024-2028 biennium gives prominence to environmental issues. One of the pillars of the investment in Minas Gerais is the implementation of an energy transition model focused on the use of biomethane in the factories of Ibiá and Ituiutaba.
