The hotel industry turns to technology to ensure seamless operations and drive new revenue during peak season.

The hotel industry in Brazil is showing strong momentum, with an average occupancy rate reaching 69% by the end of 2025, according to a joint study by FOHB and HotelInvest. This positive outlook is pushing establishments to prepare early for high-traffic months, such as school holidays, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. The goal is to provide a faster, more efficient experience for guests, especially during peak periods.

The primary strategy for managing growing demand and avoiding bottlenecks at the front desk involves adopting self-service solutions. Hotels and resorts are rolling out advanced digital kiosks. Through these interactive interfaces, guests can manage every stage of their stay, from check-in and check-out to processing payments and booking additional services.

This shift aims not only to streamline operational processes but also to enhance the guest experience. By automating routine and repetitive tasks, staff members gain more time and availability to focus on personalized interactions and resolving more complex requests, ultimately raising the level of service provided.

Beyond efficiency, these interactive screens represent a new revenue stream. They act as virtual showcases for extra services, such as meal packages, tours, and parking access, presenting upgrade opportunities and convenience directly to the guest.

Carlos Alberto Machado de Souza, CEO of Genialtec, notes:

Implementing these technologies early is essential for us to validate integrations and ensure everything runs smoothly before the busiest travel season begins.

He emphasizes that the ability to customize these solutions is a key differentiator, allowing them to be adapted to the specific needs of each property, whether it is an urban hotel or a leisure resort.

The focus on self-service technology reflects a strategic move by the hospitality sector to solidify its recovery and pave the way for sustainable growth, where operational efficiency goes hand-in-hand with traveler satisfaction and comfort.
